Richard Stohr Orchestral Music, Vol 3 Focuses on 1942
Ian Hobson directs the Sinfonia Varsovia in some inspired performances. I especially enjoyed their performance of the Symphony No. 2. The ensemble makes it sound expansive and symphonic, yet also thoughtful and introspective.
Juozas Gruodis Piano Music
Another exceptional release of music worth discovery from Toccata Classics.
Maria Rosa Coccia - Sacred Music from 18th Century Rome
Coccia writes in the clean, elegant style of the middle Classical period. If you enjoy the choral works of Haydn and Mozart, you'll find a lot to like in Coccia's music.
Richard Flury Chamber Music, Vol. 2 - Quartets of Quality
Highly recommended -- along with volume one. I anticipate the remaining volumes will be of the same high quality.
Balkan PIano Music United in Quality
This is a series worth exploring.
Reissiger Complete Piano Trios, Vol. 1 - a good start
The Trio Anima Mundi delivers some sensitive readings. They keep the music light and transparent.
Adolf Busch Orchestral Works Volume One continues fine series
This release features some of Busch's works for chamber orchestra. And what a great place to start.
Janis Kepitis: Piano Miniatures from the Manuscripts, Vol. 2
Nora Luse turns in another set of tremendous performances. She gives these suites a sense of direction, embuing them with a narrative thread.
Amazing Miniatures by Janis Kepitis Ripe for Discovery
Nora Luse plays with sympathy and enthusiasm. These may be small pieces, but she takes them seriously. And in the process reveals some marvelous miniatures of beauty
