Roxanna Panufnik - Heartfelt chamber music
While the influences are many, the results are consistent. Panufnik refines her source material into something beautiful, and something that's uniquely her own. If you only know (and love) her choral music, "Heartfelt" is a must-have release.
Eleanor Alberga - Wild Blue Yonder is exceptional
This is a good companion release to Alberga's string quartet album. Now what I'd really like to hear is some of her large-scale works.
Thea Musgrave - Chamber Works for Oboe
Daniel plays with a clean, clear tone and is in complete command of this material. He can be warm and expressive, or play aggressively and with great agility as the music demands. An unusual but very compelling portrait of a modern master.
