East-West Chamber Orchestra completes Weinberg series in fine style
I was hoping the East-West Chamber Orchestra would complete this set. It took a while, but I wasn't disappointed. It was definitely worth the wait.
Wallfisch shows affinity for Weinberg Concerto
As always, Wallfisch's sympathetic performances provide insight into the scores. In this case, his decision to highlight the Jewish elements in the music provides added insight into the complex personality of Mieczyslaw Weinberg.
Weinberg Symphony 6 - Russian composer given his due
If you aren't familiar with Mieczyslaw Weinberg, this release is a good place to start.
