For August, the Classics a Day team chose to celebrate some birthdays. Several major composers were born in August, and some deserve rediscovery. The challenge is to post videos of August's birthday boys and girls to your social media feed.
Heinrich August Marschner: Ripe for Reevaluation
I found this collection to be both entertaining and enlightening. Entertaining, because if you love Offenbach, you'll find a lot to like here. And enlightening, because I found there was much more to this composer than the term "transitional" suggests.
