House of Belonging - Award-worthy Music
This is an album of extraordinary beauty. Beautiful, insightful music sung by master musicians. Oh yes. This one deserves a Grammy nomination (if not the Grammy itself).
Unbounded: Music by American Women
And as with her previous release, Dawn Wohn delivers committed, insightful performances.
Delos Shows Ellen Taaffe Zwilich At Her Best
The Santa Rosa Symphony is directed by Francesco Lecce-Chong. This is their first commercial recording, and their playing is first-rate.
Erwin Schulhoff - His Legacy Survives
This is an excellent overview of Schulhoff's works. The Nazi suppression of Schulhoff's music removed it from circulation. And it's only been in the last decade or so that attention has returned to Holocaust composers.
Seasonal Serenity from Brian Galante and Stephen Paulus
Choral music focused on the spiritual center of the season, sung with beauty and sensitivity, instilling a sense of tranquility. I love it.
Constantine Orbelian, pianist
Orbelian is a talented conductor, and as these recordings show, he's a gifted pianist as well. A welcome addition to the Moscow Chamber Orchestra's extensive catalog of recordings.
We are grateful for the generosity of the Joseph and Robert Cornell Memorial Foundation and UVA Arts Council, supporting WTJU and CharlottesvilleClassical.org.
