Silvestrov: Choral/Vocal Music

Part 2 of “Valentin Silvestrov: A Composer’s Journey” airs Monday, January 12 on CharlottesvilleClassical.org. In this installment of this five-part profile, host Steve Robinson focuses on Silvestrov’s vocal output.

He is currently the most prolific composer of choral/vocal music in Ukrainian history. This program samples lieder, works for chorus, and an excerpt from his monumental, Requiem for Larissa.
